Highway chase ends with arrests in Douglas County

LAWRENCE - Five people have been arrested after a police chase that ended near the Lecompton interchange.

Captain Joe Bott, of the Kansas Turnpike Authority, says the chase started in Kansas City with a stolen vehicle. When the chase entered Kansas, the highway patrol were called to help.

Law enforcement used stop sticks to stop the vehicle, and the chase ended about a mile east of the Lecompton interchange. All five people who were in the vehicle are now in custody.

Nobody was hurt and traffic was not disrupted. We have a crew on scene and will bring you more information as it comes in.
