Police investigating possible armed robbery near KU
Lawrence police were investigating a possible armed robbery Thursday near The University of Kansas.
The incident happened about 3:35 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of Stewart Avenue, at Chase Court Apartments, which is located just east of Iowa Street.
Officers are looking for two male suspects, who were driving a white sedan and left eastbound on 21st, said Sgt. Matt Sarna, police spokesman.
The apartment complex primarily houses KU students, but school isn’t in session. Fall semester classes ended last week and don’t resume until mid-January.
A man who lives at the apartment complex says the situation scares him to death. But police say armed robberies aren’t usually common during the daylight hours.
Police said there were four victims in the apartment who were shaken up. Officers took individuals from the apartment and away from the scene.
