6News wins four first place awards from Kansas City Press Club
The 6News team took home four gold awards Saturday from the Society of Professional Journalist’s Kansas City Press Club, which recognizes journalism excellence among media operations in Kansas and Missouri.
Our winning entries were:
- Public Service Project – 2011 Severe Weather Special
- Breaking News – Search For Bank Robbery Suspect
- Spot News – Reading Tornado Destruction
- Sports – Karate Kid
6News was also awarded with a second-place public service project award for our monthly news issues show, Town Topic. And, our staff won a bronze award for a feature story about a woman turning 107 years old.
