Renovations to Lawrence Memorial Hospital’s cafeteria are finally finished. Construction began six months ago. Since July, cafeteria workers have been cooking in a temporary facility located in a parking lot, waiting for the construction to be complete.
The cafeteria was built in 1977, and administrators say that it was in desperate need of a makeover. After months of renovations, the new and improved dining facility is open. It has exhibition cooking, which means you can watch the chef prepare the meals in front of you. The dining area now features a fireplace to help customers relax, and soft serve ice cream was added to the dessert menu. Upgrades were made to the seating area as well, though most of the renovations happened in the kitchen.
The floors were redone, and electrical upgrades were made. Administrators say the new facility is more spacious and inviting. Customers say the renovations are great, and the cafeteria is place you can enjoy.
